Last years meetings

We had a few meetings and lessons at the end of last year that we haven't told about yet. On the 17th of October we had a visitor from Joensuu's Karelia university of applied sciences. Taavi Kiesiläinen came to tell us about the studies of media. He told his own story about how he ended up studying towards Bachelor's degree in Culture and Arts (Bachelor of Media). He told us about the studies in general and also about the career opportunties. He also showed us a couple of videos that he had been making.

 

On the 1st o November we had a lesson about Romania. It was kept by our school's arts and religion teacher Ari Kallio. He told us about a lot basic information about the country. It was also really interesting to hear about his own trip to Romania. He showed us pictures and also spoke about the most famous sights ect. We also had another lesson about Turkey held by our school's history and social studies teacher Marja-Liisa Nykänen. This lesson was more general knowledge about the country.

We also had a logo contest for our project. Some of our school's students made really good options. Then the other students voted for the best logo. The winner was selected to represent our school in a contest between all the countries that participate in this project.

 

This year we have already had the opportunity to go end learn about our own city's newspaperand how it's made. We have a whole post about that. Happy new year!
